Plain answers on cost, fit and privacy

If your question isn't here, call during intake hours.

Is your help really free?

Yes, for workers who qualify. We never charge a fee for advice or for a case we take. If a case goes to court, filing or transcript costs can come up; we ask the court to waive them, and we tell you before any cost would be yours.

Who qualifies?

Workers in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Wyoming and Susquehanna counties with a problem with an employer, a household income within our limit, and a problem from the last two years. The four questions on our Get help page walk you through it.

Do you ever represent employers?

No. We work only for employees, so there's never a conflict with the company you're up against.

What happens after I reach out?

An attorney or trained volunteer calls you within two business days, asks what happened and when, and tells you whether we can take it. If we can, we meet in person or by video and agree in writing on what we'll do.

Will my employer find out I called?

Not from us. What you tell us stays confidential. If we take your case and contact the employer, we decide that together first.

Do you speak languages other than English?

Our attorneys speak Spanish, Nepali, Hindi and Lithuanian, and we bring an interpreter for any other language at no cost.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. A family member or friend can join, though we may ask to speak with you alone for part of the meeting.
