Four questions to see if we can take your case

If you can answer yes to all four, send us the form below or call. If not, call anyway: we'll point you to someone who can help.

  1. 01

Step 1: Do you work, or did you work, in Northeastern Pennsylvania?

We serve workers in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Wyoming and Susquehanna counties, wherever the employer is based.

  2. 02

Step 2: Is the problem with an employer?

A boss, a staffing agency or a company you were paid by. We don't take disputes between coworkers alone, or cases for businesses.

  3. 03

Step 3: Is your household income within our limit?

Our limit is set by our funders and changes each year. Most workers earning an hourly wage are under it. We'll check it with you on the phone.

  4. 04

Step 4: Did it happen in the last two years?

Some deadlines are much shorter, so if it's older, call us now rather than later.

Send your story to intake

A staff attorney or intake volunteer reads every message and calls you back within two business days.

What's closest to what happened?

Please don't send pay stubs, medical records or other confidential details here. We'll ask for what we need once we talk.

If we can't take your case

Where else can I go?

The county bar's lawyer referral service can connect you with a private employment lawyer, and the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division takes wage complaints for free. We'll give you numbers when you call.

What if my income is a little over the limit?

Call us. Some of our grants have higher limits for certain kinds of cases, and our volunteer lawyers sometimes take cases at a reduced fee.

I'm in a union. Can you still help?

Often, yes, though your union may need to file a grievance first. Bring your contract if you have it and we'll look at both paths with you.
